An urgent call for prayer
As the Philippines braces for the impact of impending Typhoon Ruby (international name: Hagupit), the Philippine Embassy requests the Filipino community in New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and Cook Islands to fervently pray for GOD’s protection for our beloved country and people. Let us all be one and find strength in GOD as we manifest our unshakeable faith in HIM, remarkable resiliency and steadfast hope amidst the challenges of another strong typhoon. As we bow down and kneel before GOD’s throne of grace and mercy, we plead for HIS comfort, consolation, strength and fortitude during these very difficult times.
Let us continue to offer special prayers for our government leaders, local officials, agencies, organizations, stakeholders and all those involved in emergency response, evacuation operations and disaster preparedness who are working tirelessly and selflessly in our collective efforts to prepare and protect the communities and keep them safe along the path of Typhoon Ruby. May the sacrificial service, exemplary kindness, outpouring of generosity, support and assistance, and spiritual anchor of Filipinos once again demonstrate the renowned, proven, true and time-tested spirit of “bayanihan” at this time of great need.
