All legal documents may be notarized/ acknowledged. consularized by clients/applicants personally appearing at the Philippine Embassy in Wellington or at its Honorary Consulates in Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand or Suva, Fiji. The relevant authentication/notarial forms may be found by checking the embassy's Download Forms here. PERSONAL APPEARANCE is required.
Notarization/ Acknowledgement/ Consularization of documents fee charged by the Embassy is NZ$43.75 starting 15 November 2022 (3-5 working days processing), payable in cash to the Embassy of the Philippines. Please provide a copy of your valid passport and a prepaid signature courier bag for the return of the document.
In cases where personal appearance is not possible in view of valid circumstances, the following procedures should be followed:
- The legal document should be notarized by a New Zealand Notary Public.
- The duly notarized document should then be submitted for apostille to the Apostille Unit of the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs (NZDIA) in Wellington with contact no. 04-4702928 or please follow this link for further information https://www.dia.govt.nz/Document-authentication.
- Once the document has been apostilled by NZDIA, it can be sent to the Philippines directly.
In cases where official documents issued by the New Zealand Governments (e.g. Birth Certificate, Police Clearance, etc.), the following procedures should be followed:
- The original document should be submitted for apostille to the Apostille Unit of the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs (NZDIA) in Wellington with contact no. 04-4702928 or please follow this link for further information https://www.dia.govt.nz/Document-authentication.
- Once the document has been apostilled by NZDIA, it can be sent to the Philippines directly.
In cases where the legal document originates from Cook Islands, Samoa, Fiji Islands or Kingdom of Tonga, the following shall be applied:
- The subject document must first be notarized by a Samoan/ Tongan/Fijian/ Notary Public.
- The document that has been duly notarized or affirmed shall be forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cook Islands/ Samoan/ Tongan/ Fijian to certify/apostille the notarized document.
- Once the document has been apostilled, it can be sent to the Philippines directly.
