Ambassador Azucena welcomes DND Senior Undersecretary Irineo C. Espino Jr. and the members of the Philippine delegation to the 6th PH-NZ Bilateral Defense Talks (BDT) 🇵🇠🇳🇿
The Philippine Delegation was composed of officials from the Department of National Defense and the Embassy. The delegation met with their counterparts at the New Zealand Ministry of Defense for this year’s BDT, which highlighted the deepening defense ties between the Philippine and New Zealand with the advent of the signing of the Status of Visiting Forces Agreement (SOVFA) in April 2025. The Meeting discussed advancing regional security cooperation, and reaffirmed the mutual commitment of both countries to uphold peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region and beyond. - END
