NOTICE: Re First Union and Extrastaff. On 3 May 2019, a “Fair Labour Migrant Agreement” was signed between First Union Inc. and Extrastaff Limited and witnessed by the Philippine Embassy in Wellington. It had a stated duration of 12 months. To the knowledge of the Embassy it has not been renewed, therefore it is considered to have lapsed. The Embassy’s having witnessed the 2019 Agreement should not be construed as an endorsement of Extrastaff. While the Embassy is ready to continue constructively engaging with New Zealand Unions, it has no intention of further witnessing any such agreements involving Extrastaff. Nevertheless, the Embassy commends the efforts of First Union in engaging the sector, and looks forward to other efforts to secure the best possible work conditions for our Kababayan in NZ.
