Extension of Overseas Voting Registration Until 14 October 2021 JSD-2021-19
Following the decision of the COMELEC En Banc on 29 September 2021, the period for overseas voting (OV) registration is extended for two (2) weeks, or from 1st until 14th of October 2021.
If you are unable to travel to Wellington but you were able to register before (biometrics and photo) or you were able to vote in the last election, you may wish to check with the COMELEC if your voter’s registration could be reactivated.
You may fill up and download the Overseas Registration Form here: https://irehistro.comelec.gov.ph/irehistro/ovf1#sec4
Send a copy of your completed Overseas Registration Form and passport data page to COMELEC: ov.concerns@comelec.gov.ph
Due to the high volume of emails being received by the COMELEC from our _kababayans_ who are also trying to beat the overseas registration deadline, there is a significant delay in the response. Rest assured, your emails are already in the queue.
Alternatively, you may also send the queries to ov.wellington@philembassy.org.nz and the Embassy will forward your emails to the COMELEC for processing.
If you can travel to Wellington, the Embassy will open the Overseas Voters’ Registration on the following dates and time slots to accommodate those who need to register on or before 14 October 2021:
OVERSEAS VOTERS’ REGISTRATION EXTRA DATES | ||
---|---|---|
Monday-Friday | 01-14 October 2021 | 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. |
Sunday | 03 October 2021 10 October 2021 |
1:00-4:00 p.m. |
There is no need to book an appointment for this service. Please do not call the Embassy to ask or confirm this. Instead, the Embassy needs you to patiently queue or fall in line and wait for your turn as these are requirements against COVID-19 in workplaces across New Zealand.
The Embassy also reminds those who will be coming to register in Wellington to wear a mask and observe physical distancing to comply with the New Zealand Government’s rules against COVID-19 (Delta variant).
Maraming salamat po.
