Session 13: Manifesting and Asserting a Filipino Point of View

For this session we'll have Dr. Ramon Guillermo from UP Diliman as he discusses the Kris, Lapulapu and the First Circumnavigation, followed by Ret. Prof. Rudy Rodil with his work on the Lumad, Bangsamoro, and Settlers of Mindanao, Dr. Raymundo Rovillos of the University of the Philippines Baguio with his paper on the Discourse on Being Filipino and the Igorots in the 1887 Exposicion General de Filipinas in Madrid; Dr. Charlie Samuya Veric of the Ateneo de Manila University with his analysis on the Portrait of the Filipino Historian as an Artist, and Dr. Ma. Crisanta Flores from UP Diliman on the Mapping and Locating of the Philippines in the First Circumnavigation. Dr. Kristyl Obispado will moderate the Session with Dr. Ruel Pagunsan providing the synthesis.

Session 13 is convened by the University of the Philippines Department of History.
