PHL Embassy participates in the Annual Christmas celebration of the Philippine Central Association in Palmerston North, New Zealand
Upon the invitation of Philippine Central Association (PCA) of Palmerston North, New Zealand, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Glenn Joseph Q. Obach attended its Christmas Party and Induction of Officers, and served as the inducting officer for the new set of officers of the PCA on 13 December 2015 at the Red Sox Manawatu Sports Club in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
The newly inducted officers are: Angel Carambas, Chairman; Tony Villanueva, Secretary; Beth Hubilla, Sub-Secretary; Chris Ouano, Treasurer; Sandro Mercado, Social Executive; Mac Sto. Tomas Bringas, Sub-Social Executive; Lawrence Gonzales, Sub-Social Executive; Maria Lizette Gallaza, Cultural Executive; Catherine Estrada, Sub-Cultural Executive; Ronan John Militante, Sub-Cultural Executive; Nicole Medina, Sub-Cultural Executive; Juvy Baldesimo Longanilla, Youth & Sports Coordinator; Dominic Lomiwes, Sub-Youth & Sports Committee; Antonio Maniago, Sub-Youth & Sports Committee; Junjun Garovillo, Sub-Youth & Sports Committee; John Williams, Senior Adviser; Rex Arthur Morales, Senior Adviser.
The Christmas Party prepared by PCA showcased the cultural pride of the association. Song, dance and musical performances were presented by the PCA Rondalla Group, the Manawatu Multicultural Choir, Lawrence Gonzales, Lhuvlee Hubilla, Poinsettia Babes, Holly Berry Hunks, and Ginger Bread Kids. Greetings and messages were also delivered by guests and attendees. The PCA’s guest speaker, Palmerston North Member of Parliament (MP), the Honourable Iain Lees-Galloway, wished the Filipino community a Merry Christmas.
After sharing a scrumptious lunch, the party ensued with more presentations, exchange of gifts, Santa gift-giving, lollies-throwing and a lot of dancing and fellowship. Indeed, it was another successful event for the dynamic Philippine Central Association of Palmerston North.
