The Embassy of the Philippines in Wellington joined the Filipino Catholic Community of Barangay Sta. Teresa during its annual celebration of the Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux at the St. Teresa Church Hall in Karori, Wellington on 03 October 2015.
The Barangay Sta. Teresa servant team organized the fun-filled event for Filipino families living in Karori, Kelburn, Makara, Wilton and Northland and was attended by other Barangays of the Filipino Chaplaincy. The event commenced with a procession in the vicinity of the St. Teresa Church Hall. Fr. Danny Cipriano officiated the fiesta mass immediately after the procession. The altar servers, readers, offerors, collectors and Eucharistic ministers were all members of Barangay Sta. Teresa. The Barangay Sta. Teresa’s own music ministry, the Barangay Sta. Teresa Youth Choir, sang during the mass.
In her remarks, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. Arlene Gonzales-Macaisa, commended the Servant Team of Barangay Sta. Teresa for continuing the Filipino tradition of expressing their faith and unity through church activities. She especially congratulated Barangay Sta. Teresa for the music ministry of its Youth Choir stating that it is a pleasure to see the youth involved in all aspects of Filipino community activities. She concluded her message with an encouragement for all Filipinos, 18 years old and above, to take advantage of the Overseas Voter Registration process to register to vote and be counted in the 2016 Presidential Elections.
