Parol Project

/ news

Mga kabayan, let’s make the parol the symbol of the Filipino Community in New Zealand!

The parol encapsulates the Filipino spirit of warmth and positivity and is a symbol of our abiding friendship with Aotearoa New Zealand and its peoples. We hope that the parol brings to our Kiwi friends the sense of joy and community that we Filipinos as a people embody this Christmas season and all year round.

How to participate:

  1. Organize a parol-making workshop at home, school, workplace, church or local community and invite your non-Filipino friends.
  2. Encourage the participants to hang the parols that they made in their homes, schools, workplace, church or in the public places in the community.
  3. Snap a photo or video of your workshop and your creations, and share them on social media.
  4. Make sure to tag the Philippine Embassy on Facebook: #ParolProjectinNZ
