Once again, we are calling on the Filipino Community in New Zealand, throughout the North and South Islands, to demonstrate our well known, tried, true and time tested spirit of “bayanihan”, coming together to help generously and compassionately our fellow kababayans.
We reiterate our deep appreciation to the Government and People of New Zealand for responding to the appeal of the International Federation of Red Cross to support immediate relief efforts in the Philippines by making a contribution of NZ$150,000 as well as providing a further NZ$2 million to support humanitarian relief efforts. New Zealand continues to demonstrate its solidarity with and compassion for the Filipino people especially in times of great need.
