Filipino choirs win at World Choir Games New Zealand
Four Filipino choirs bested 11,000 singers from over 30 countries around the world to win Gold awards at the World Choir Games 2024 held in Auckland last 10-20 July.
The choirs were the Quezon City Performing Arts Development Foundation Inc., Concert Chorus, which won two (2) Gold awards for the Category C7-Mixed Chamber Choirs and Category 16-Sacred Choral Music with ACO; the Miriam College HS Glee Club, which won the Gold awards for the Category 04 - Youth Choirs (Gold III) and Category 015- Sacred Choral Music acapella (Gold IV); the Mariano Marcos State University-Nasudi Chorale, which won the Gold (IV) award for the Category 015-Sacred Choral Music acapella and Category 04-Youth Choirs (Gold I); and Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion Chorale won the Gold (IV) award for the Category 026-Folklore and Indigenous Music acapella.
