‘Til we meet again, Fr. Elmer
Ambassador Virginia H. Benavidez together with the Philippine Embassy Team, hosted a thanksgiving dinner in honor of Fr. Elmer Ibarra, SVD, Parish Priest, Wainuiomata, at “Ang Bahay” on 27 May 2014. It was an enjoyable and meaningful evening as Ambassador Benavidez thanked Fr. Elmer for being a vital partner of the Philippine Embassy in reaching out to the Filipinos and highlighting the vital role of the church for the well- being of the Filipinos and wider community in New Zealand. The Philippine Embassy Team conveyed their best wishes and heartfelt prayers for the success of Fr. Elmer as he undertakes his new assignment in Sydney as Vocation Director. Fr. Elmer reiterated his deep appreciation to Ambassador Benavidez and the Philippine Embassy for opening up “Ang Bahay” to Filipinos and friends from New Zealand, for the continuing support and assistance extended to him and for the commitment and cooperation to serve the Filipino and the wider community in New Zealand.
