The Embassy warns Filipinos against falsification
In English
The Embassy warns Filipinos against falsification. Even mere use of fake documents is punishable under Philippine law.
Recently, there was a case of a family member of an Overseas Filipino (OF) in New Zealand who was offered help by a dishonest individual in the Philippines to process an Acknowledgement of Special Power of Attorney (SPA). Please note that if found suspicious, notarial certificates are referred to the Embassy/Consulates for verification.
Let us not fall prey to schemes such as these which could put ourselves and our loved ones in danger of criminal liability.
